5 STARS but...

5 STARS for the Albano's artwork and 5 STARS for Amazon customer service but...
PROS:
The deck is truly gorgeous. 25 years ago when I was new to Tarot, the Albano deck was bothering to me and I even considered it a pure profanity to the original artwork by Pamela Colman-Smith;) As many tarotists discover, our taste matures with time. Now, among others, I use the centennial PMS which I value for its charming sepia-like faded coloring, and Albano-Waite which I find vivid, vibrant and energetic. The first one is more introspective, the latter one is extremely articulate and outspoken. The deck I choose depends on the Querent and their vibes.
Cardstock is very nice: the cards are flexible and sleek, easy to shuffle and spread.
CONS:
1 STAR for images quality
Printing quality... And this is where my heart sank. Several cards have coloring out of lines, images look distorted. When I ordered the first copy I thought it was just one "faulty" deck. Amazon immediately shipped me a replacement and ...the defects were exactly the same...on the same cards. Especially King of Pentacles has a digital "scratch" at the top (please see the pictures and please disregard the flash). Same issues with two different copies. I guess it must have been a bad batch of those decks.
Summary: I hope you will receive a perfect copy of this deck and if not... hey, no one is perfect. Neither us readers nor our Querents. And a Tarot deck like everything else in life can be just a reflection of...ourselves;) Smile and happy readings!

Love.

Perhaps I'm too tired to be writing a review but I simply love this deck. I've been using it almost exclusively since I received it. I feared that after paying $57 for a deck that would normally only cost $12 (if not out-of-print) I would be disappointed in it, but that wasn't the case! If anything, it exceeded my expectations several times over.
I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe it's the diminutive size, maybe it's the unusual vintage colors or the charming card backs, or some other thing, but I love it. It's probably a combination of all of the above.
As a tarot fan I have quite a few decks and several mini decks. For those folks out there who enjoy mini size decks and who also love vintage colors or unusual colors, I think you'll appreciate this deck.
For readers who don't use the LWB (most of us) then you won't care that the LWB sucks for this one. My more traditional Rider-Waite Mini has a very nice LWB, but again I rarely look at it so it doesn't matter.
I love this deck and I'm glad I got it, steep price tag or no. I hope it gets re-printed and sold for a reasonable price so that more folks can enjoy it.

Albano-Waite Tarot Deck

Order was processed and delivered on time. I'm not a purist or a collector, just curious. The deck was in a cardboard carton with a sealed cellophane wrap, so new. The cards have a slick coating for easy shuffling. The images outlines are the Rider Waite, but some are a little blurry from reproduction noise, and the Albano colours are different for some suites. However, each card is identifiable. Overall, these are familiar images of this style of Tarot cards. I was watching the cable tv series (on Amazon Prime) of "Carnivale", and decided to order a set. The ones used in the show are of different images and names on the cards. There are probably over 100 different styles in Tarot cards now. I just happen to like the images in this style. There seemed to be fewer negative comments for the Albano set than the regular Rider Waite cards, so that was part of my decision. The price seemed very good with the Prime shipping. So, I'm pleased with these cards.
