About the Author
BARBERTON - There's a saying that goes, "When the emotion is love, everyone is a poet". But local 30-something poet Aneil Morgan seems to be an eternal romantic at heart, and for him poetry is part of his existence - something very personal, which he takes very serious. Aneil is currently in the process of publishing a collection of his work, For the love of poetry, written in simple language so that young and old can share in it. But, he already has plans for book two, and says that he has kept some of his "high-phrase" poems for the sequal. Aneil has been writing since an early age. "I always found it hard to speak out and make conversation. The only way I could express myself was through poetry. I grew up in a strict household, always helping others. Later on I developed the skill to write poetry, the words just flowed," he says. But although others wanted to take advantage of his gift, Aneil never abused it. "A lot of acquiantances asked me to write their loved ones poems, but it would be cheating to use my words and not their own. I have a strong belief that the way into someone's heart is through your own words." And that's when friends, family and local teachers started urging him to publish his work. He says that although he was sceptic at the time, they would describe it as very enjoyable. However, Aneil's heart was broken when him and his girlfriend broke up. "I was devastated, nver thought I would love again until Brittney Mary-Jane, also known as Chante, came along," he shares. He poetically describes her, now his girlfriend, as being very special and her heart pure, which made him fall in love with her. "It all began with the poetry, and I knew she is my true love. She also urged me to publish and to me it was a sign that it's the right time and the right thing to do. My love for her brought me to finally reveal my work." Actual "Boundaries" book required for the workbook. A bit heavy on biblical references, and general Christian beliefs.

Didn't know it was Christian-based. Didn't know that it IS REQUIRED to have the actual "real" Boundaries book to use the workbook. Maybe that was a total oversight on my side. It's totally fine though, I happened to get the book before the workbook. Anyway, there are a lot of biblical references. Since I am not religious, I wan unable to relate or answer the questions regarding boundaries and general Christian beliefs. So I had to skip those questions.

One of the best books on developing healthy relationships

This book was recommended to me by a friend who works for a counseling call center. It may well become one of the classic books for people to read who need to develop or improve healthy boundaries in their relationships.
There are several case studies or examples of people who have gone through life thinking they were helping others, when in reality, they were actually enabling others to continue in whatever difficulty or struggle they were in, and worse yet, deepen the bonds of unhealthy interactions that have been coined "co-dependent".
I rate this book right up there with Dr. Larry Crabb's excellent book, "Inside Out". It is my opinion that anyone who struggles with how to relate to others in a healthy way (who doesn't?) ought to at least consider adding these two books to their inventory.
Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend does not bash you with a lot of "Christian-ese", but it is written with a Christian orientation. Even those ! unsure of such a foundation ought to consider this book anyway because it rings true. If you have a church library, this book should DEFINITELY be in it.

I purchased both the Boundaries book and the Boundaries workbook. I would highly recommend that people purchase both. Sometimes when you are just reading a book, the information "goes in one ear and out the other" but with the workbook, you are asked to apply what you have learned to your own life - therefore helping you retain it better. This is a definately a great companion to the actual "Boundaries" book and very helpful with the issue of boundary setting.

About the Author
D. Stanley Eitzen (Ph.D. University of Kansas) is professor emeritus in sociology from Colorado State University, where previously he was the John N. Stern Distinguished Professor.� Among his books are Social Problems (with Maxine Baca Zinn and Kelly Eitzen Smith)and�Diversity in Families (with Maxine Baca Zinn and Barbara Wells), both of which received McGuffey Awards from the Text and Academic Authors Association for excellence and longevity over multiple editions. He is also the author and co-author of four Solutions to Social Problems volumes with Allyn &�Bacon;�Paths to Homelessness: Extreme Poverty and the Urban Housing Crisis (with Doug A. Timmer and Kathryn Talley); Sociology of North American Sport (with George H. Sage); and Fair and Foul: Rethinking the Myths and Paradoxes of Sport.� He has served as the president of the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport and as editor of The Social Science Journal.

Maxine Baca Zinn�(Ph.D. University of Oregon) is Professor Emeritus�in sociology at Michigan State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. Her main research interests�are racial inequality, gender, and�family life. She is the author and co-author of many other books, including Diversity in Families (with D.�Stanley Eitzen and Barbara Wells),Social Problems (with D. Stanley Eitzen and Kelly Eitzen Smith), Women of Color in U.S. Society, Gender Through the Prism of Difference, and Globalization: The Transformation of Social Worlds. Kelly Eitzen Smith received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Arizona.� She is currently the director of the Center for Applied Sociology and a lecturer at the University of Arizona.� At the Center for Applied Sociology she has conducted research in the areas of day labor, homelessness, poverty, urban housing and neighborhood development. Her sociological interests include gender, family, sexuality, stratification, and social problems.� She is also the co-author of Experiencing Poverty (with D.Stanley Eitzen), andSocial Problems (with D. I ordered this book also for my class and it came right on time with the other book I had ordered from them, they actually shipped them together so I was happy about that. And of course its a used book so I it has minor wear but very minor. The book I have is in better condition that what the school library has. So I'm very happy that I got these books on time and I paid a good price for the condition they were in

Excellent, but noticeably biased.

This book is very good. It makes a lot of important points and is actually very, very, good for a textbook. The reason it is being given three stars, however, is that book- while very awesome, very easy to read, and very informative about social issues- is noticeably biased. Bias cannot be concealed, no matter how hard an author tries. I understand that. But the book is noticeably biased politically for one group over the other. I'm not a republican or a democrat, so it is annoying to see such petty quarrels bleed through into my social problems text. Despite it's blatant bias, however, the textbook is very, very, good and I would highly recommend it. Completely worth the buy.

Dr. Michael Lawrence Faulkner is the author of six books. He is a professor at the Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University. He is a former U.S. Marine who spent 30 years in a variety of leadership and executive management positions with Fortune 500 firms and major nonprofit trade associations. He also helped his family run the family business before beginning his second career in academics. Michael is a member of MENSA, a Rotary International Fellow, and a Keller Master Teacher Award recipient. He holds a Silver Certification by the Toastmaster’s International. In addition to his Ph.D., Michael has earned two Master’s degrees: one from NYU and an MBA from NYIT.

Michelle Faulkner-Lunsford is a 2001 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where she majored in English and minored in Writing. Mrs. Lunsford spent 10+ years in the world of advertising and marketing as an Account Manager and Director of Marketing and New Business Development, managing multimillion dollar accounts from male-enhancement medications to beer ads. In 2011, Michelle left the corporate world for the opportunity to raise her daughter.

I bought this book for some help for my resume. Wow, just when you think you have very word possible. you find a book that expands on that and more. I would recommend this book to anyone who may need their vocabulary expanded without mind wrecked by needless explorations of thesaurus.

I gave it 1 star only because there isn't an option for zero. Cumbersome. Confusing. Obscure words and very poor examples. I am a bit of a «wordie» and thought this would be a good addition to my library. It took very little time to realize how useless this book is.

One of the most uplifting and knowledgable books referring to Mao and the Sino-Soviet Era

I can personally recommend this book to anyone studying the subject. After reading the text, the authors presented a feeling of excitement for the reader, giving him/her a chance to live in the times discussed in the book. One thing that I can say is that this book should be looked at as the greatest piece of writing in the subject during the reign of Mao and the conflicts and agendas presented during the Sino-Soviet Era. Once again, I end this review by giving others my thoughts and opinions, which I feel the workshould be noted on a mastery level of the Sino-Soviet Era.

Learning the times of Mao Zedong and the conflict/partnership that came to be between the Russians and Chinese is perfectly discussed in this academic scholarly book featuring authors Shen and Xia. As part of the Harvard Cold War Studies Book Series, after reading the literal meanings of that respective era, one can say that this is the grand text in relation to the subject of Russian-Chinese relations. Recommend this book to anyone studying this subject as it is noted on a top scholarly level, I rate this text an easy five stars.

Watch out! All the five star reviews about this book look dubious to me

All the reviews say basically the same thing: The book is a must buy. They all start with the authors name in the first sentence. They don't really say anything about the book's content in detail. Also, most of the reviews have been submitted within a couple of days. Before and after were hardly any reviews. It looks fishy to me.

Anyone in an IT (manager, engineer, CEO) or an educational career would benefit from reading this book if they want to understand computer security and learn how to implement security measures. Vacca's book covers PKI (Public Key Infrastructures) design, architecture AND implementation. It is the latter part of the book that attracted me most. Vacca goes deeply into costs, performance, and schedules of implementing the right PKI structure for your needs.
You get a good overview of the state of the PKI field today before getting into adopting and deploying the right PKI structure for your business. Vacca walks you through the steps of certificate management - obtaining, using, and removing digital certificates. Many supporting contributors have lent their expertise to assorted chapters, and the book is a real smooth read. Vacca has the ability to easily explain complex subjects while not detracting from the depth of topic coverage, and there are ample tables and flowcharts to support any discussion.
I would heartily recommend this book.

John Graham is the D. Richard Mead Professor of Finance at Duke University where he also serves as the Director of the CFO Global Business Outlook survey. He is coeditor of the Journal of Finance. Professor Graham is also a Research Associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research, Vice President of the Western Finance Association, and been recognised for outstanding teaching and faculty contributions at Duke and the University of Utah.

NOT THE SAME AS THE PRINT VERSION

It says that this is exactly like the print version, but it is not! I spent several hours contacting various people trying to figure out why some pages are blacked out. Finally I talked to the publishers, who were actually helpful, unlike the amazon help line. I found out that they do not have the copy writes to publish some of the pages so they are just blacked out, and there is no way to get them.

A good, understandable read (Rented, not bought)

This was a required textbook for a class and I opted to rent this book instead of purchasing (So Much Cheaper!). Overall, I liked the textbook since it is relatively easy to follow and contains lots of real-world scenario examples. The material was also fairly current (within a few years).

Way, way too overpriced

200 bucks is absolute highway robbery for a finance book that only comes with limited access to the online stuff. Any professor who forces their students to buy this book deserves a one-start rating.
